What a month actually costs, three ways
Sticker prices are easy to compare and useless for deciding. These are the three usage patterns that cover almost everybody.
The free reader
One character, a conversation most evenings, a handful of generated photos in the first week. Thirty messages a day is roughly a twenty-minute conversation, which is enough for a lot of people indefinitely. The 100 starting tokens cover the early images; after that generation waits.
The daily talker

Stay free if you are still deciding
The Starter plan is not a countdown. It gives you 100 tokens, five dialogs and thirty messages a day, permanently, without a card. That is enough to build a character properly, run several real conversations, generate a few images and walk into every world on the platform. Most of the product's actual character — the memory, the temperament, the way a relationship reads different in week two — is visible at zero cost. If you have not hit a wall yet, there is no argument for paying.
Pay monthly when the cap starts annoying you
Thirty messages is roughly a twenty-minute conversation.
